Our Cat Cage members will be dining on Chic Delite from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm.

BOOK DONATION TO THE MEDIA CENTER

 

 

 

 

The Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and Alabama Ag in the Classroom donated the book and Educator’s Guide “Right This Very Minute” by Lisl H. Detlefsen to Springwood School on Friday. The book was presented by Mrs. Lillian Slay and was chosen Agriculture Book of the Year in 2019.  Thank you for your kind donation! Also, thank you Mrs. Slay for taking time visit Springwood School.

September 25 Announcements

SEE  YOU AT THE POLE

This morning Springwood students, teachers, and administrators gathered for “See You at the Pole”. This is an annual event where Christian students gather at a flagpole in front of their local schools for prayer, scripture-reading and worship, during the early morning before school starts. It takes place on the fourth Wednesday in September.


SPRINGWOOD SCHOOL ANNOUNCES MICHEAL JENKINS AS
NEW JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS/GIRLS HEAD COACH AND VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Michael Jenkins joins Springwood School’s Athletic Department as the Junior Varsity Boys and Girls Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls and Boys Coach, Mrs. Lisa Ciampi-Sampson. Michael is currently a Senior at Auburn University studying marketing and communication. After graduation, Michael plans to pursue a career in coaching at the high school or collegiate level. Michael has coached the 8th Grade AAU Auburn Raptors Basketball team, who played at the Adidas Jr. Gauntlet circuit this year, since January 2019.

Michael grew up in Auburn, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn High School in 2013, where he played on the basketball team and soccer team. Michael coached the women’s recreational basketball team and was a sports caster on Auburn High School’s Tiger TV. While studying at Auburn University, Michael was a part of the Auburn basketball team floor crew.

Michael has vast experience working with the public and children of various ages. Michael’s diverse work background includes restaurant experience in the Auburn Opelika area. Michael also served as an after school care instructor and a camp counselor.

Springwood Varsity Basketball Coach, Lisa Ciampi-Sampson stated, ”Coach Mike does a great job of teaching the game of basketball and I’m excited to have him join the Springwood basketball staff. He is a players’ coach and does a great job getting the best out of each of his players.”

Springwood Head of School, Lowrie McCown said, “Michael is dynamic, engaging and passionate about teaching basketball. He will be a tremendous asset to our community and I believe he will train our athletes to raise the level of their game but also to be better prepared for life.”

Fight the New Drug is a non-religious and non-legislative organization that exists to provide individuals the opportunity to make an informed decision regarding pornography by raising awareness of its harmful effects using only science, facts, and personal accounts. SRCC is honored to be a host location for their 3-part documentary entitled “Brain, Heart, World.” A question/answer time will follow. Recommended for everyone middle school age and older. Seating is limited for this event!
